Filming Day 3

On our final day of filming my group and I gathered our equipment and traveled to Manchester Town Centre to film. We decided to film the majority of our footage around a car and in shops whilst trying to experiment with the camera, for example high angled shots.
By using this location and props we aimed to convey their behaviour as dangerous and rebellious.

We began filming at around 6pm due to our lighting choice as we wanted to incorporate natural low key lighting in order to create enigma (Barthes) for the audience, making them question the narrative due to the mysterious connotations surrounded by the use of spotlight and low key lighting as seen in our raw footage.

In order to make this session as productive as possible we allocated roles for all the members in our group. Charlotte shot the majority of the shots due to the fact that I am taking part in the video video, however, I suggested ways in which to be experimental and general suggestions on what would look better.
I feel we worked really well as a group in cooperating all of our ideas of how we wanted to portray the characters.

Due to the lighting being natural low key lighting we utilised a spotlight using artificial lighting in order to really highlight the characters, allowing the audience to fully identify them and see conventional actions that occur within the dark isolated car park setting in which we filmed in. We felt it was appropriate to film a great deal of our music video here to convey the group of friends isolation within society. This session also allowed us to film different types of shots such as ariel shots, over the shoulder shots and close ups.
